Congresswoman Lois Capps Visits Santa Barbara Technology Incubator

On August 4, Santa Barbara Congresswoman Lois Capps and District Director Sharon Siegel visited Santa Barbara Technology Incubator (SBTi) to discuss high-technology growth in the Santa Barbara area. Congresswoman Capps provided encouragement to continue building businesses in the area that are environmentally kind and economically viable.

The discussion focused on harnessing the creativity of the private sector to effectively build a balanced Santa Barbara community. Capps encouraged SBTi to continue their strong educational support and complimented their involvement in the Center for Entrepreneurship at UCSB (link to website here) . She also emphasized that participation in middle schools and high schools will assist in opening doors for other segments of the Santa Barbara community which might not yet be directly involved in the high-tech business and wealth emergence.

The SBTi team will serve as a resource for the Congresswoman, through Legislative Director Randolf Harrison, on potential legislative issues related to the growth of high-tech in Santa Barbara.
