System Administrator

Full Time 0 - 10 Years Experience

Responsibilities

 

  • Determine what the organization needs in a network and computer system before building it out.

  • Oversee installation of all network hardware and software, as well as necessary systems upgrades and repairs.

  • Help maintain network and computer system security and ensure that all systems are operating correctly.

  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate network/systems performance and help make the system work better, faster, and with greater accuracy; identify and implement system improvements where needed.

  • Prepare training materials and train users on the proper use of hardware and software when necessary.

  • Solve problems quickly when a user or an automated monitoring system lets them know about a problem.

Qualifications

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related discipline is required. Five (5) or more years of experience as a systems administrator is also required. Systems administration certification (e.g., IEEE, CompTIA Network+, Cisco) is desirable. Must have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Must be capable of leading a diverse team of computer/network technicians, systems analysts, software developers, and other computer professionals. The position requires someone with exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing; presentation skills/ experience are a definite plus.  IT project management experience is a must.
